Another Incredible Night at Scolton Manor - 27/9/2024

This was our second time investigating the eerie yet enchanting Scolton Manor, and once again, the venue did not disappoint. We had a great mix of novice and experienced ghost hunters with us, including a few familiar faces from our last visit.

As usual, we split into two teams. Piers took his group upstairs, while my team explored the downstairs areas and cellar. Although my team had a quiet start, the activity soon picked up. Gary, our trusty teddy bear, lit up in several different locations throughout the night, signaling the presence of something unseen. We also witnessed impressive K2 meter activity upstairs.

In the cabinet room, an intriguing interaction took place. As I knocked on one of the cabinets and called out, “Can you copy this?”, my mag lite, sitting about a meter away on a fireplace, turned itself on and off in response. This happened multiple times, with a noticeable delay after each knock, and the light seemed to respond only when asked. Despite our attempts to gather more information about who we were communicating with, the spirit seemed more interested in playing the copycat game.

Adding to the mystery, we kept hearing a knocking and dragging sound from outside the room, which persisted for quite a while. We thought it might have been the other group moving chairs around in the cellar, but after confirming, we realized the sounds didn’t match. As we left the area, someone noticed a wooden crib in the next room. When one of the guests gently moved the crib, several of us immediately recognized the noise—it was the same sound we had been hearing. Whether the crib had been moving on its own or not, we may never know, but I like to believe it was.

Team 2 also had remarkable experiences throughout the night. They received direct messages on the Ouija board, and one guest appeared to be channeling a spirit. At one point, this guest seemed unable to place his hands on a table, as if something was physically preventing him. As this happened, the K2 meters behind him lit up, reaching the red zone. When he turned around, the lights dropped back to green, and when he turned back again, they shot up to red once more. Experiments confirmed that the K2 was being affected by this guest, who later revealed he is a healer.

In the second half of the night, Team 2 had more Ouija board activity in the cellar, receiving personal messages. Meanwhile, another group in the kitchen reported seeing hands appear in the top corner of the room and shadowy figures moving about. The whole night was filled with an array of paranormal experiences, and I believe all the guests left eager for more, which is always the best outcome after a ghost hunt.

Thank you to everyone for making this another fantastic night at Scolton Manor! We can’t wait for the next investigation.
